Graduation Packet:
Upon meeting graduation requirements outlined in the catalog, students are issued their graduation documents within 45 days of their graduation date. Graduation Packet which includes student Diploma/certificate(s), one copy of official transcript, and one copy of unofficial transcript will be mailed to the student’s address on file with the college unless prior arrangements have been made in advance by the student. It is the student responsibility to ensure that their correct mailing address is on file with the college at all times. Students who do not update the mailing address on file with the collect prior to graduation packet being shipped will be charged a Diploma/Certificate replacement fee.
Graduation Packet includes the following documents:
Graduation Packet documents will not be automatically released to students with an outstanding balance of $5.00 (five dollars) or more and/or to students with active administrative or academic holds until the balance is resolved and/or the holds are cleared.
Current or former students who have active administrative or academic holds should contact the department that issued a hold for the steps to release it. Once the hold is released, the graduates should fill out the Diploma/Certificate of Completion (COC) Request Form located on this portal to initiate the release of their Graduation Packet. Current or former students should follow the request steps for the documents listed below.
Current or former students who owe an outstanding balance can contact the Registrar's Office to request the following documents:
1. Unofficial Transcript
Unofficial Transcripts can be released upon request to students regardless of outstanding balance or administrative/academic holds. Students should request the transcripts by contacting the Registrar's Office by email or in person.
2. Official Transcript
MCC will release official transcripts to current or former students even if the current of former student owes a debt if the student requests the official transcript to:
(A) complete a job application
MCC will provide an official transcript of a current or former student who owes a debt directly to a student's current or potential employer upon receiving request via Parchment. If the request is submitted by the student, the student must indicate that the transcript is requested for job application, provide employer contact information for transcript delivery, and fill out the FERPA release box. Alternatively, a student's potential or current employer can directly request transcripts via Parchment and provide FERPA Release Form.
(B) transfer from one institution of higher education to another;
MCC will provide an official transcript of a current or former student who owes a debt directly to the institution of higher education where the student intends to transfer upon receiving request via Parchment. If the request is submitted by the student, the student must indicate that the transcript is requested for transfer to another institution, provide receiving institution's contact information for transcript delivery, and fill out the FERPA release box. Alternatively, the receiving institution can directly submit a Parchment request for an official transcript and attach the FERPA Release form.
(C) apply for State, Federal, or institutional financial aid;
Current and former students with outstanding balance should contact the Registrar's Office to provide documentation confirming that the official transcripts are required to complete their application for state, federal or institutional aid. Once the documentation is reviewed, the student official transcripts will be released via Parchment directly to the requesting agency.
(D) join the United States Armed Forces or Illinois National Guard;
MCC will provide an official transcript of a current or former student who owes debt directly to United States Armed Forces or Illinois National Guard Representative, upon receiving request via Parchment. If the request is submitted by the student, the student must indicate that the transcript is requested for the purposes of joining the United States Armed Forces or Illinois National Guard, provide the Recruiting Officer contact information for transcript delivery, and fill out the FERPA release box. Alternatively, a Representative of the United States Armed Forces or Illinois National Guard can submit a Parchment request for an official transcript and attach the FERPA Release form.
(E) pursue other postsecondary opportunities;
Current and former students with outstanding balance should contact the Registrar's Office to provide documentation confirming that the official transcripts are required for them to pursue other postsecondary opportunities. Once documentation is reviewed and deemed sufficient, the student official transcripts will be released via Parchment.
3. Verification Letter
The Registrar’s Office will issue a verification letter regardless of student's outstanding balance or administrative/academic holds confirming student’s completion of the program for requests like job opportunities, scholarships, college applications, and more. Current or former students should submit a verification letter request via Parchment. FERPA Release box must be checked out for a release to a third party.

Education Verification (EV) provides confirmation of a learner's enrollment in a program of study and verifies their current status in the program. This includes students name, program name, program type (certificate vs degree), enrollment date, target completion date (applicable for active students only), program exit date, credential awarded and date awarded.
By requesting to send the records to a third party on student's behalf, the student gives the college permission to release their records to the third party listed on the request.
Students can request for replacement of Diploma(s) and/or Certificate of Completion (COC) at any time from the Registrar’s Office.
Please note that the design, wording, and signatures on the replacement document will be processed by what is currently in use by the College and may be different from the ones printed on the original certificate.
