APA is the style of documentation of sources used by the American Psychological Association. This form of writing research papers is used mainly in the social sciences, like psychology, anthropology, sociology, as well as education and other fields.

Microsoft Word Tips

Tip One:

  1. Highlight your quote
  2. Right Click and select ‘paragraph’
  3. Once you see a box, under Indentation
  1. choose special.
  2. Under ‘Special’ select ‘Hanging’
  3.  under ‘by’ change the number to ‘.5’
  4. Once you are done click ‘OK”
  1. Your long quotation is moved a ½ inch from the left (The lines are moved more to the right.)

Tip Two:

  1. Place the Curser in front of the 1st word of the quote
  2. Select Backspace
  3. Select Enter
  4. Select Tab. The first line has been moved 1 inch to the right
  5. Place the cursor in front of the second line and select tab
  6. Your entire quote has been moved 1 inch to the right
